ARTICLE 1 – PURPOSE

The purpose of these rules (hereinafter the “Rules”) is to define the terms and conditions of the organization of, and participation in the operation (hereinafter the “Operation”) to select the Participants who will be able to register for the 2027 edition of the event HOKA SEMI DE PARIS (hereinafter the “Event”) through the Lottery.

The Operation is organized by CADENCE RUNNING UNITED, a simplified joint-stock company with share capital of 150,000 Euros, whose registered office is located at 66 avenue des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris, Company in the process of registration, represented by its president, Mr. Laurent STURTZ (the “Organiser”).

The Operation takes place in two successive phases:

• the Registration phase for the Operation, from September 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM to September 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM (Paris time), during which Participants may register for the Operation and enter the Lottery;
• the Access Rights allocation phase (to the Event registration platform in order to purchase a Race Bib, under the conditions and within the timeframe provided for in the Rules), taking place from October 1, 2026, during which Participants who can register for the Event will be designated, and comprising the initial Draws, any supplementary Draws, and then, if applicable, the allocation of residual Access Rights according to the Waiting List order, under the conditions provided for in Article 6.

 

Important: Registration for the Operation does not constitute registration for the Event, nor reservation or free allocation of a Race Bib, nor guarantee of actual participation in the Event.

Only persons selected at the end of the Access Rights allocation phase will be able to access the platform to complete their Event registration and purchase their Race Bib, under the conditions provided for in Article 5 of the Rules.

Participation in the Operation is free and without obligation to purchase: no transmission of banking information, payment, or prepayment is required for your registration for the Operation.

Any purchase of a Race Bib only occurs after selection and constitutes a separate process.

 

ARTICLE 2 – DEFINITIONS

For the purposes of the Rules, terms beginning with a capital letter have the meaning assigned to them below, whether used in singular or plural.

“Access Right” means the personal, temporary, non-transferable and conditional right allowing a selected Participant to access the Event registration platform in order to purchase a Race Bib, under the conditions and within the timeframe provided for in the Rules.

“Lottery” means the random selection process conducted in accordance with Article 6 for the purpose of allocating Access Rights among eligible Participants. The Lottery comprises: (i) the single initial Draw carried out within the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool, (ii) the initial Draw carried out within the General Public Pool, after transfer into it of Participations not selected at the end of the “Gateway Race Bib” Draw, and (iii) any supplementary Draws carried out exclusively within the General Public Pool, and (iv) when the context requires, the random Draw carried out to determine the order of Participations on the Waiting List. Each individual random selection operation conducted as part of the Lottery is referred to as a “Draw”, and together as the “Draws”. The Draws and the constitution of the Waiting List are carried out according to the procedures provided for in Article 6.

“Event” means the 2027 edition of HOKA SEMI DE PARIS, organized by the Organiser and scheduled to take place on March, 7 2027 in Paris.

“Organiser” means CADENCE RUNNING UNITED, in its capacity as Organiser of the Operation and the Event.

“Participant” means any natural person who has validly submitted a Registration (for the Operation), either individually or as a member of a Team, and whose Registration has been duly completed and validated in accordance with the Rules.

“Participation” means the registration resulting from a validly completed Registration for the Operation, allowing the Participant concerned to take part in the applicable Draw, subject to compliance with the conditions provided for in these rules.

“Pool” means a set of valid Participations constituted for the purpose of carrying out the Lottery (comprising one or more Draws) under the conditions provided for in Article 6. Within the framework of the Operation, the following are constituted: (i) the “Gateway Race Bib Pool,” comprising exclusively the Participations of persons whose eligibility for the “Gateway Race Bib” scheme has been justified in accordance with the Rules. This Pool is constituted exclusively for the purposes of the initial “Gateway Race Bib” Draw provided for in Article 6. At the end of this Draw, Participations that did not result in the allocation of an Access Right are automatically transferred to the General Public Pool, without any new action required from the Participant. No supplementary Draw or Waiting List specific to the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool is organized; (ii) the “General Public Pool,” initially comprising valid Participations that do not fall under the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool, to which are added, at the end of the initial “Gateway Race Bib” Draw, the Participations from the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool that did not result in the allocation of an Access Right. From this transfer onwards, all subsequent selection operations are carried out exclusively within the General Public Pool.

“Race Bib” means the personal and non-transferable ticket allowing its holder to participate in the Event, subject to completion of their registration, full payment of the applicable price, acceptance of the Event rules and associated General Terms and Conditions of Sale, as well as compliance with all participation conditions set by the Organiser.

“Registration Form” means the electronic form accessible via a personal link sent by email, which any person wishing to participate in the Operation must duly complete and validate during the Registration Opening Period.

“Registration for the Operation” or “Registration” means the process undertaken by a person wishing to participate in the Operation, consisting of completing and validating the Registration Form during the Registration Opening Period, in accordance with the conditions provided for in these rules, in order to attempt to obtain an Access Right. When validly completed, Registration for the Operation results in the recording of a Participation. Registration for the Operation is distinct from Event registration and does not constitute selection, allocation of an Access Right, or reservation of a Race Bib.

“Registration Opening Period” means the period from September 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM to September 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM, Paris time, during which persons wishing to participate in the Operation may submit their Registration for the Operation in order to attempt to obtain an Access Right.

“Selected Participant” means any Participant to whom an Access Right is allocated at the end of a Draw or according to the rank randomly assigned to them on the Waiting List. Selection does not constitute free allocation of a Race Bib or registration for the Event.

In these Rules, the terms “selection,” “selected,” and “designated” exclusively describe the result of a random process. They do not imply any subjective, discretionary, or qualitative assessment by the Organiser, nor the application of any criterion of merit, ranking, priority, or weighting.

“Team” means a group composed of two (2) to six (6) Participants, identified under a team name and each member of which must personally complete and validate their Registration for the Operation, under the conditions provided for in the Rules.

“Team Leader” means the member of the Team identified as its administrative contact within the framework of the Operation. The Team Leader cannot accept the Rules or the conditions applicable to the Event on behalf of the other members, nor complete their final registration for the Event.

“Waiting List” means the list constituted, if applicable, at the end of the last supplementary Draw, from valid Participations that have not previously resulted in the allocation of an Access Right. The rank of each Participation on this list is determined entirely randomly, in accordance with the procedures provided for in Article 6.

ARTICLE 3 – CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE OPERATION

The Operation is open to Participants who:

• were born no later than December 31, 2009 (i.e., who will have reached the age of eighteen (18) years no later than December 31, 2027, the year of the Event);
• have a valid personal email address that is regularly consulted;
• duly complete all required information and submit their Registration Form under the conditions and within the timeframes provided for in these Rules; and
• acknowledge that their actual participation in the Event will remain subject to compliance with and acceptance of the conditions applicable to it, these conditions being separate from those provided for in these Rules.

The date on which the Participant completes their Registration during the Registration Opening Period has no impact on their chances of being selected.

Only one Participation is allowed per person, either individually or as a member of a Team. Any registration of multiple Participations is prohibited and may result in the invalidation of all Participations concerned.

Any Participation that is incomplete, has not been validated, is fraudulent, is submitted late or contains inaccurate information may be rejected or invalidated.

The Organiser reserves the right to request any supporting documents necessary to verify compliance with the conditions for participation in the Operation, under the conditions provided for in the Rules.

 

 

ARTICLE 4 – REGISTRATION PROCEDURES FOR THE OPERATION

4.1 General Registration procedures (applicable to individual registrations and team registrations)

To participate in the Operation, the Participant must, during the Registration Opening Period, access the website https://in.reg.hokasemimarathondeparis.com/2027 and complete the Registration Form provided for this purpose.

In this context, the Participant must:

• complete all mandatory fields of the Registration Form and provide all required information and data;
• read these Rules and accept them without reservation;
• certify the accuracy, truthfulness, and completeness of the information provided; and
• validate the Registration Form before the end of the Registration Opening Period, this action constituting submission of their Registration.

 

The information requested as part of the Registration includes:

• first name, family name,
• sex as recorded in the Participant’s civil-status documents,
• date of birth,
• email address,
• country of residence,
• Participant’s target finish time for the Event,
• to benefit from any preferential rates: any data relating to (i) eligibility for the so-called “Gateway Race Bib” scheme, (ii) the Participant’s status as a holder of a licence issued by the French Athletics Federation (FFA) for the 2026/2027 season.

 

The Participant may participate in the Operation:

• individually; or
• as part of a Team under the conditions provided below.

 

4.2 Specific Registration procedures, applicable to Team Registrations

Participants wishing to participate in the Operation as part of a Team must each personally submit a Registration and join, during their Registration, the Team previously created by the Team Leader.

The Team Leader first completes their own Registration and provides the information concerning the chosen name for the Team, as well as the number of members composing it.

A Team must be composed of two (2) to six (6) people, including the Team Leader.

The name chosen for the Team must be unique. Two Teams cannot be registered under the same name.

After the Team Leader’s Registration and the creation of the Team, each of the other members must personally complete their Registration during the Registration Opening Period, by selecting the “team registration” option and entering the exact name of the Team as recorded by the Team Leader when creating it.

Each Team member is responsible for completing and validating their own Registration within the applicable timeframes.

In the absence of Registration of all Team members during the Registration Opening Period, the Registrations of members who have validly completed their Registration within the allotted time remain valid. The absence of Registration by one or more initially planned members does not therefore result in the cancellation of the Registration of other Team members.

 

ARTICLE 5 – RIGHT ALLOCATED AT THE END OF THE OPERATION: ACCESS RIGHT TO EVENT REGISTRATION AND PURCHASE OF A RACE BIB

Important: being allocated an Access Right does not constitute Event registration.

The allocation of an Access Right to the selected Participant (at the end of the Draw or occurring according to the Waiting List order) only grants them the option to exercise this Right: the selected Participant remains entirely free not to exercise this Right, not to register for the Event and, consequently, not to purchase a Race Bib.

Any purchase of a Race Bib only occurs if the Participant decides to exercise their Access Right, as part of a separate, voluntary, and paid Event registration process.

5.1 Nature and duration of the Access Right

Each Participant to whom an Access Right is allocated benefits from the personal and temporary right to access the Event registration platform, operated by Njuko, in order to purchase a personal and non-transferable Race Bib at the rate applicable to them in accordance with Article 5.6.

This Access Right may be exercised within seventy-two (72) hours from the sending of the email informing the Participant of their selection.

The selection email indicates the precise date and time of expiry of the Access Right. It contains a personal and secure link to access the Event registration platform.

Upon expiry of this period, the unexercised Access Right is automatically and permanently lost. It may be reallocated by the Organiser to third parties in accordance with the procedures provided for in Article 6.

5.2 Completing Event registration (applicable to individual and Team Registrations)

The exercise of the Access Right and registration for the Event constitute a separate transaction from registration for the Operation and require the purchase of a Race Bib.

To complete their Event registration, the selected Participant must, within seventy-two (72) hours:

(i) provide additional information on the Event registration platform, including personal data requested by the Organiser;

(ii) read and accept the Event rules, including in particular the conditions of participation, as well as the General Terms and Conditions of Sale applicable to the purchase of the Race Bib and options offered by the Organiser and any other applicable contractual document;

(iii) provide, if applicable, the supporting documents necessary for their Event registration; and

(iv) proceed with full payment of the price of the Race Bib and any optional services/options selected, before the expiry of the applicable period.

Event registration is only considered final after completion of all these formalities and receipt, by email, of an Event registration confirmation issued by the registration platform or by the Organiser.

5.3 Specific procedures for completing Event registration, applicable to Team members

When a Participant registered as a member of a Team is drawn in one of the Draws, all members of that Team duly declared and having confirmed their Registration under the conditions provided for in the Rules each benefit from an Access Right.

This rule does not apply to the allocation of an Access Right according to the Waiting List order, which occurs exclusively on an individual basis in accordance with Articles 6.3 and 6.4.4.

Each member concerned individually receives an email containing their personal and non-transferable link to access the Event registration platform.

Each Team member purchases their Race Bib at the rate personally applicable to them in accordance with Article 5.6, based on their own situation and, if applicable, their personal eligibility for the “Gateway Race Bib” rate or the FFA preferential rate.

Failure to complete Event registration by one or more Team members does not affect the Event registration of other members who have validly completed all required formalities within the allotted time.

5.4 Characteristics of the Access Right

The Access Right is strictly personal, non-transferable and non-assignable. It cannot, under any circumstances, be made available to a third party, free of charge or for consideration.

It has no autonomous monetary value and cannot give rise to any financial compensation.

The Access Right does not guarantee the Participant’s medical fitness, eligibility to compete, or actual participation in the Event. These remain subject to completion of their registration and compliance with all Event participation conditions.

5.5 Freedom to exercise the Access Right and absence of payment for the Operation

Participation in the Operation is free. No payment or prepayment is requested for participation in the Operation.

The Participant to whom an Access Right is allocated remains free not to exercise it. Non-exercise of the Access Right within the allotted time does not result in any fee or penalty. It only results in its expiry, without compensation or consideration.

Payment of the Race Bib price only occurs if the Participant decides to exercise their Access Right and complete their Event registration.

5.6 Race Bib prices and preferential rates

For information, the rates applicable to the purchase of a Race Bib, when registering for the Event, are as follows:

• “General Public Race Bib” rate: 79 euros including VAT.
• “Gateway Race Bib” preferential rate: 25 euros including VAT.
• preferential rate, reserved for holders of a valid FFA licence for the 2026/2027 season: 75.05 euros including VAT.

 

The “Gateway Race Bib” preferential rates (applicable under the conditions of Article 5.6.1.) and the preferential rate applicable to holder of a licence issued by the French Athletics Federation (under the conditions of Article 5.6.2.) may not be combined. Where a Participant qualifies for both rates, the lower rate shall apply.

Any false declaration, falsification, or fraudulent use of supporting documents to benefit from a preferential rate may result in the invalidation of the Participation or Access Right, under the conditions provided for in Article 8 of the Rules.

5.6.1 “Gateway Race Bib” preferential rate

The benefit of the “Gateway Race Bib” rate is reserved for Participants whose eligibility for the “Gateway Race Bib” scheme has been verified and whose Participation has been admitted to the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool and to whom an Access Right has been allocated at the end of the initial Draw of the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool.

When a Participant admitted to the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool is not selected at the end of this initial Draw, their Participation is automatically transferred to the General Public Pool, in accordance with Article 6.

From this transfer onwards, the Participant can no longer benefit from the “Gateway Race Bib” preferential rate.

If they are subsequently allocated an Access Right within the framework of a General Public Pool Draw or the Waiting List, they can purchase their Race Bib at the General Public rate or, if they meet the conditions provided for in Article 5.6.2, at the FFA preferential rate.

Transfer to the General Public Pool is automatic and does not require any new action or Registration from the Participant.

When registering for the Operation, the Participant wishing to request admission to this Pool must answer “Yes” to the following question: “Are you eligible for Gateway Race Bib?” and upload to the platform one of the following supporting documents bearing the Participant’s name (in PDF format):

• a payment certificate issued by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) or the Agricultural Social Mutual Fund (MSA), dated less than three (3) months from the date of Registration and mentioning receipt of the active solidarity income (RSA);
• a payment certificate issued by the CAF or MSA, dated less than three (3) months from the date of Registration and mentioning receipt of the disabled adults’ allowance (AAH);
• a final notification of award of a need-based higher education scholarship issued by CROUS for the 2026/2027 academic year; or
• a situation certificate issued by France Travail, dated less than three (3) months from the date of Registration and attesting to the Participant’s registration on the list of jobseekers.

 

Eligibility for the “Gateway Race Bib” scheme is assessed at the date of Registration for the Operation. The supporting document must be issued in the Participant’s name, be complete, legible, valid, and establish that they fall under one of the categories listed above.

Supporting documents are examined before the Draw of the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool. If the supporting document is incomplete or illegible, the Organiser may invite the Participant to provide a compliant replacement document, this rectification having to be received no later than September 30, 2026.

In the absence of rectification within this period, if the supporting document is rejected or if the Participant does not meet the eligibility conditions, their Participation is not admitted to the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool. Subject to compliance with the other conditions of the Rules, it is automatically integrated into the General Public Pool, without new Registration.

5.6.2 FFA preferential rate

The benefit of the FFA rate is reserved for Participants holding a valid licence from the French Athletics Federation for the 2026/2027 season.

Its application is subject to the provision, when registering for the Operation, of their valid licence number, establishing that the Participant meets this condition.

When the conditions allowing benefit of the FFA preferential rate are not met, the Participant retains their Access Right, but the FFA preferential rate is not applied to them. They can then purchase their Race Bib at the General Public rate, unless they benefit from the “Gateway Race Bib” preferential rate under the conditions provided for in Article 5.6.1.

 

ARTICLE 6 – LOTTERY PROCEDURES AND DESIGNATION OF SELECTED PARTICIPANTS

6.1 Constitution and operation of Pools

Valid Participations are divided between the following two Pools, as defined in Article 2 of the Rules:

(i) the General Public Pool, ultimately aiming to allocate a minimum of 35,000 (thirty-five thousand) Race Bibs; and

(ii) the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool, aiming to allocate 1,000 (one thousand) Access Rights at the associated preferential rate within the framework of the initial Draw of the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool.

These numbers constitute the number of Race Bibs that the Organiser plans to allocate at the date these Rules come into force. The Organiser reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to increase this number during the Operation. Any increase in the number of Access Rights allocated within the framework of the Operation will result in an update to these Rules.

Each Participation can only be drawn once. As soon as a Participant is selected and benefits, as such, from an Access Right, their Participation is removed from any subsequent Draws and from the Waiting List.

A first Draw is organized exclusively within the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool under the conditions provided for in Article 6.4.1.

Access Rights allocated to other members of the Team of a Participant selected under the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool, pursuant to Article 6.3, are allocated in addition to these one thousand (1,000) Participants and are not deducted from this number.

At the end of this Draw, all Participations from the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool that did not result in the allocation of an Access Right are automatically and permanently transferred to the General Public Pool, without any new action or Registration being required from the Participants concerned.

From this transfer onwards, no other Draw or Waiting List is organized for the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool. All subsequent selection operations are carried out exclusively within the General Public Pool.

6.2 Equal individual chances of selection

Within each Pool, each Participant individually has the same chance of being drawn.

Draws are carried out entirely randomly, without weighting, priority, ranking, merit criterion, or discretionary assessment.

Each member of a Team participates individually in the Lottery. The consequences of the draw of one of its members for the entire Team are specified in Article 6.3.

6.3 Procedures specific to Teams

Each member of a Team who has validly completed their Registration has a personal Participation. This Participation is individually included in the initial Draw, any supplementary Draws and, if applicable, in the Waiting List.

When a member of a Team is drawn within the framework of the initial Draw of the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool, the initial Draw of the General Public Pool, or a possible supplementary Draw, each of the members duly attached to this Team and having personally validated their Registration before the close of the Registration Opening Period benefits from an Access Right.

The allocation of Access Rights to all Team members occurs solely by virtue of the draw of one of its members. Upon this allocation, the Participations of all other Team members are removed from subsequent selection operations and from the Waiting List.

Each beneficiary Team member individually exercises their Access Right and purchases, if they decide to exercise it, their Race Bib at the rate personally applicable to them in accordance with Article 5.6.

By way of derogation from the above, the collective benefit attached to the selection of a Team member ceases to apply from the constitution of the Waiting List.

The Waiting List is constituted and implemented on an exclusively individual basis. When a Participation reaches next eligible position on the Waiting List, only the Participant to whom this Participation relates benefits from an Access Right. This allocation does not entail any Access Right for the benefit of other members of their Team.

No member may be added to a Team after the close of the Registration Opening Period.

6.4 Chronology of the Access Rights allocation phase

6.4.1 Initial Draw of the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool

The first Draw of the Operation is carried out entirely randomly within the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool.

This Draw aims to confer one thousand (1,000) Access Rights, from among the Participations composing the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool.

This Draw is unique. No supplementary Draw and no Waiting List are organized within the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool.

At the end of this Draw and the resulting allocation of Access Rights, all Participations from the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool that did not result in the allocation of an Access Right are automatically transferred to the General Public Pool.

The Participants concerned therefore participate, under the same selection conditions as other Participants of the General Public Pool, in subsequent selection operations, without any new action on their part being necessary.

6.4.2 Initial Draw of the General Public Pool

After carrying out the Draw of the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool and transfer of non-selected Participations in accordance with Article 6.4.1, an initial Draw is carried out entirely randomly within the General Public Pool.

All valid Participations then composing the General Public Pool and not having previously resulted in the allocation of an Access Right participate in this Draw.

Each Participant individually has the same chance of being drawn.

6.4.3 Supplementary Draws

Upon expiry of the period granted to selected Participants to exercise their Access Right at the end of the initial Draw of the General Public Pool, unexercised or newly available Access Rights may be subject to one or more supplementary Draws.

Supplementary Draws are exclusively carried out within the General Public Pool, from among valid Participations that have not previously resulted in the allocation of an Access Right.

No supplementary Draw is organized within the “Gateway Race Bib” Pool.

The number of supplementary Draws is determined by the Organiser based on the number of Access Rights that have remained or become available.

6.4.4 Constitution of the Waiting List

Upon expiry of the period granted to selected Participants to exercise their Access Right within the framework of the last supplementary Draw, a Waiting List is, if applicable, constituted from among Participations that have not resulted in the allocation of an Access Right.

The rank of each Participation on the Waiting List is determined entirely randomly. No criterion of priority, weighting, merit, seniority, or discretionary assessment is applied.

The Waiting List operates exclusively on an individual basis, including when a Participant is registered for the Operation as a member of a Team.

When an Access Right becomes available, it is offered to the Participant occupying the first useful rank on the Waiting List. Only this Participant benefits from the Access Right, without this allocation entailing any Access Right for the benefit of other members of their Team.

 

 

 

6.4.5 Allocation of residual Access Rights

Upon expiry of the period granted to Participants selected at the end of the last supplementary Draw, a single Waiting List may be constituted from among valid Participations not yet having resulted in the allocation of an Access Right.

The rank of each Participation on this Waiting List is determined entirely randomly. No criterion of priority, weighting, merit, seniority of Registration, or discretionary assessment is applied.

The Waiting List operates exclusively on an individual basis, including when a Participant is registered for the Operation as a member of a Team.

6.5 Maintenance of Participation in selection operations

By validating their Registration and accepting these Rules, the Participant acknowledges and accepts that their Participation remains active throughout the duration of the Operation and may, depending on circumstances, be included successively (i) in the initial Draw of the Pool to which it is attached (ii) in each of any supplementary Draws organized by the Organiser; then (iii) at the end of the last supplementary Draw, in the random constitution process of the Waiting List of the Pool concerned.

This successive participation is automatic and does not require any new action, confirmation, or Registration from the Participant.

 

ARTICLE 7 – INFORMATION ON OPERATION RESULTS

The operations conducted as part of the Access Rights allocation phase (initial and supplementary Draws, selection from the Waiting List) shall be carried out under the supervision of a French judicial officer (commissaire de justice, formerly known as huissier de justice). Their results shall be formally recorded in accordance with Article 6.

Selected Participants are informed by email sent to the declared email address. No results will be published.

It is the responsibility of each Participant to regularly check their mailbox, including “junk,” “spam” or equivalent folders, and to maintain their email address in working order. The Organiser is not responsible for parameters specific to the Participant’s mailbox.

The selected Participant must complete their Event registration under the conditions provided for in Article 5, failing which, they lose the benefit of the Access Right.

 

ARTICLE 8 – CONTROLS, FRAUD AND INVALIDATION

The Organiser may carry out proportionate controls necessary to verify identity, information provided, uniqueness of Participation, eligibility conditions, particularly for preferential Race Bib rates, and composition of a Team. It may suspend allocation during the time strictly necessary for verification.

Any fraud, attempted fraud, identity theft, prohibited automation, falsification of supporting documents, or circumvention of rules results in invalidation of the Participation or Access Right.

ARTICLE 9 – LIABILITY AND SYSTEM AVAILABILITY

9.1 System availability and operation

The Organiser shall take reasonable measures to ensure the availability, security, and integrity of the system allowing participation in the Operation, in particular the Registration Form, the platform used, and communications addressed to Participants.

The Organiser does not, however, guarantee continuous and error-free operation of the website, platform, or communication networks used.

Subject to mandatory legal provisions, the Organiser cannot be held liable for difficulties or impossibilities of participation resulting exclusively from circumstances not attributable to it, in particular:

• malfunction of the Participant’s computer equipment, software, or Internet connection;
• interruption, slowdown, or failure of telecommunications networks or Internet service providers;
• technical incompatibility specific to the equipment or configuration used by the Participant;
• manipulation error or improper use of the site or platform by the Participant; or
• incorrect or incomplete email address provided by the Participant.

It is the responsibility of each Participant to take reasonably necessary measures to protect their equipment, software, and data against any risk of alteration, contamination, or intrusion.

9.2 Technical incidents attributable to the Organiser

The Organiser’s liability cannot be excluded or limited when the impossibility of participating in the Operation or exercising an Access Right result from a breach attributable to it or from a malfunction falling under its responsibility or that of its service providers.

Any Participant encountering a technical difficulty must report it as soon as possible to [email protected], or to the postal address: CADENCE RUNNING UNITED –Draw Contact – 66 avenue des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris, providing the elements allowing its examination and, to the extent possible, before the expiry of the applicable period.

When a technical incident attributable to the Organiser or one of its service providers is established, the Organiser takes reasonable and proportionate measures to limit its consequences and, when this remains materially possible, to restore the possibility of participating or exercising the Access Right, while respecting equal treatment among Participants.

9.3 Force majeure

The Organiser’s liability cannot be engaged when non-performance or delay in performance of its obligations results from a case of force majeure meeting the conditions provided for by applicable legislation.

In case of temporary impediment, performance of the obligations concerned is suspended for the duration of this impediment, unless the resulting delay justifies cancellation of all or part of the Operation. In case of permanent impediment, the Organiser may terminate the Operation, after informing Participants as soon as possible.

 

 

ARTICLE 10 – SUSPENSION OR MODIFICATION OF THE OPERATION

When the proper conduct, security, integrity, or fairness of the Operation are affected by an event independent of the Organiser’s will, by fraud or attempted fraud, by a major technical failure, or any other objective circumstance that makes it impossible, or materially compromises the ability, to continue the Operation under the conditions initially contemplated, the Organiser may, to the extent strictly necessary, without prejudice to the increase option provided for in Article 6.1:

• temporarily suspend the Operation;
• postpone or extend a deadline;
• adapt the Operation, particularly with regard to its technical procedures;
• restart all or part of the selection operations when they have been affected; or
• cancel the Operation if no other reasonable measure allows its regularity to be preserved.

Any measure taken on this basis must be justified by the circumstances encountered, proportionate to their consequences, and implemented without unfairly altering, particularly retroactively, Participants’ chances.

Participants are informed of this measure and its consequences by any appropriate means, in particular by email or by publication at the URL address mentioned in Article 12, as soon as circumstances permit.

 

ARTICLE 11 – PERSONAL DATA

For any additional information concerning Personal Data processing implemented, in particular their legal bases, retention periods, any transfers outside the European Economic Area, and procedures for exercising rights, the Participant is invited to consult the Privacy Policy available on the official website of the Event.

11.1 As part of their Registration and participation in the Operation, the Participant is required to communicate to the Organiser certain personal data allowing them to be identified directly or indirectly (the “Personal Data”). The Organiser acts as data controller for Personal Data collected within the framework of the Operation.

Personal Data are processed, according to the purposes concerned and under the conditions provided for by applicable regulations, in particular to:

• enable recording, processing, monitoring, and management of Registrations and Participations in the Operation;
• verify compliance with participation conditions, uniqueness of Participations and, if applicable, Participant eligibility for preferential rates;
• constitute and manage Teams;
• organize, secure, and supervise the Lottery, the Draws and the Waiting List;
• inform Participants of Operation results and, when an Access Right is allocated to them, enable them to complete their Event registration and purchase their Race Bib;
• prevent and detect fraud and ensure defense of the Organiser’s rights;
• manage requests, claims, and exchanges with Participants;
• meet legal and regulatory obligations applicable to the Organiser;
• establish, in anonymized form not allowing identification of Participants, statistics, studies, and analyses relating to the Operation, the Event, and their Participants, in particular to measure participation, analyze characteristics, and improve organization, systems, and services offered, as well as to measure, monitor, and evaluate objectives pursued by the Organiser, in particular regarding reduction of carbon footprint, environmental responsibility, parity, and equality between women and men;
• subject to compliance with applicable legal conditions, send Participants information and communications relating to the Organiser’s activities, products, services, or events;
• when the Participant’s prior consent is required and has been obtained, enable sending of commercial communications or offers from partners of the Organiser or the Event.

 

11.2 Personal Data are accessible only to authorised persons within the Organiser as well as to service providers and subcontractors to whom it calls upon for the purposes of organizing and managing the Operation. They may in particular be communicated to the service provider responsible for the Registration platform, the service provider responsible for the Event registration platform, the bailiff responsible for supervising selection operations, as well as to any authority legally authorised to have knowledge of them.

When the Participant has previously consented in cases where such consent is required, their Personal Data may also be transmitted to the partners concerned so that they send them their own commercial communications.

Service providers and subcontractors acting on behalf of the Organiser are required to process Personal Data in accordance with the Organiser’s instructions and applicable requirements regarding confidentiality and security.

11.3 Marketing and commercial communications

Sending commercial communications by electronic means or transmission of Personal Data to partners for direct marketing purposes is subject to the Participant’s prior consent.

The Participant may withdraw their consent at any time and, with regard to communications sent by email, use the unsubscribe link in each communication concerned.

11.4 Participants’ rights

Under the conditions provided for by applicable regulations, the Participant has in particular a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and objection to the processing of their Personal Data as well as, when conditions are met, a right to data portability and the right to withdraw their consent at any time when processing is based on it.

A document allowing proof of the requester’s identity may be requested only when this is necessary.

The Participant may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection French National Authority: Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des libertés (CNIL).

11.5 Retention period

Personal Data of Participants are retained for the period necessary for organizing and managing the Operation, in particular until completion of the Lottery, Draws, management of the Waiting List and, more generally, Access Rights allocation operations.

At the end of this period, Personal Data may be retained, in intermediate archiving, for the period necessary to comply with the Organiser’s legal and regulatory obligations as well as for the establishment, exercise, or defence of its rights, in particular during applicable limitation and claim periods.

For statistical, study, and analysis purposes provided for in this article, data may be retained for a maximum period of ten (10) years from the close of the Operation, in previously anonymized form no longer allowing, directly or indirectly, identification of Participants.

The Rules are freely accessible, before any Registration for the Operation and without prior account creation, at https://www.hokasemimarathondeparis.com/en/lottery-rules/.

ARTICLE 13 – CLAIMS, APPLICABLE LAW AND MEDIATION

Any claim relating to the Operation may be addressed, with useful elements, to [email protected]. The Organiser responds within a reasonable period.

The rules are subject to French law. After prior written claim remaining without solution, the consumer may use free of charge the competent consumer mediator: Centre de Médiation et d’Arbitrage de Paris, 39 Av. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, 75008 Paris – https://www.cmap.fr/la-mediation-de-la-consommation/. Competent courts are determined by applicable legal rules.
